Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero was an American model and singer. She is also a co-star in Prince's 1984 movie Purple Rain. The most well-known of her works is the star of the 1984 Prince Purple Rain film and lead singer in the girl-group Apollonia 6 Apollonia was given the title of an actress and singer by Prince. Through the 1980s, she became one among many other artists that benefited from Prince. Patricia Kotero was born in Santa Monica in California in 1959. Her professional career began with modeling in the latter part of 1970. She also made an appearance on CHiPS. As the female protagonist of Prince's Purple Rain was her first performance in the year 1984. Prince changed the girl's name in this period. She was replaced by Vanity by the female group Vanity 6 who performed in the movie with Apollonia 6 replacing Vanity. Sex Shooter on the soundtrack had a small success for the trio, but when she was Prince's duet partner on Take Me with You she was more successful. Kotero cut ties with Prince following differences during the course of their careers. Apollonia 6 broke up after their fallout. She then appeared in a couple of films that were minor during the 80s (reportedly not accepting an offer to star in the sequel to Purple Rain Under the Cherry Moon) and then settled on an evening-time part in the film Falcon Crest in 1985-1986. Apollonia was the first artist to release her album in 1988, but it was not a great collection of R&B/dance music that failed to attract the attention of the general people. It quickly vanished from view. Apollonia continued to act (if somewhat obscure) in the next decade. Small TV appearances, minor films, and exercise videos kept her full of work. In 1997 Apollonia recorded a bilingual album in Spanish and English entitled Stay with me. Later, she returned to the school and received a degree in filmmaking which led to her forming a production company, often working on the field of children's TV. Apollonia has many hats. She's been model, actress as well as a the talent manager. The year 1984 was the time she was credited for her part in Purple Rain.
